About Us
Featured in many famous publications such as Time Magazine (see image), Dr. Eldo Bergman's journey to help his son Philip has touched thousands of lives since the 1980s.

Since the official launch of the Family Literacy Network in 1996, Dr. Bergman and his team have worked tirelessly to help make the world a more literate place. Now Director Emeritus, Dr. Bergman retired in 2022. Philip, who has been working with FLN for over 25 years, continues his father's legacy today.
While there is always more that can be done, there is no doubt that we are making a significant impact. We don’t measure our success just through facts and figures, but through happy faces and families helped.
Making the world a more literate place
For over 30 years, we have provided explicit reading and writing instruction to help children, whether their struggles were associated with dyslexia, autism, attention deficit, speech and language disorders, or other factors. Through decades of research, testing, and trial, Dr. Bergman developed unique materials and processes to effectively help struggling readers.
At Family Literacy Network, we take pride in making a difference. We are committed to empowering people with the ability to read and write. Our aim is to improve lives, impact the community, and change the world one sound at a time.
